Italian and French Riviera

Some years ago, I travelled by train from Genoa to Nice, in the South of France. As I trundled west, with the carriage door of the train open - which was allowed at the time and to my left, watching the Meditteranean merge with the French Riviera all along the journey, I vowed one day to return.
