FROM THE ADJUTANT GENERAL A great year As in the past, 2010 presented some heavy challenges in our effort to balance our missions at home and abroad. Fortunately, the Soldiers, Airmen and civilian employees within our organization worked together to achieve success, just as they have always done. Throughout the year these men and women have made our state proud through hard work, readiness and overseas service. The Arkansas National Guard has responded to state emergencies, including late-night calls for support due to tornadoes and the search for survivors of severe fl ooding. Our counterdrug personnel helped civil authorities recover more than $200 million worth of stolen material, and we helped the state “takeback” approximately two and a half tons of unused prescription drugs. We continued our efforts to ensure a positive future for our nation by operating two youth programs, and supporting a third on Camp Robinson. And we continued our mission to help ensure a strong military force through our two training sites, and through training at the Little Rock Air Force Base. ~ Maj. Gen. William D.
