California Mechanics Lien

A California mechanics lien may be filed by material suppliers, subcontractors, equipment lessors, general contractors and others who furnish labor and/or materials to a construction project, but are not paid. Mechanics liens in California must be served upon the property owner when filed, and must be filed with the county recorders office where the property being liened is located.
