DeJong_Sambagawa Mikabu Belts (Japan): Cretaceous Ar Ages_Journal Geological Society Japan 2000

Ar/Ar dating of metapelites showed that the main tectono-metamorphic event in the Mikabu Belt (Japan) is of mid Cretaceous age, whereas retrograde recrystallisation in the higher grade spotted zone in the Sambagawa Belt occurred in the late Cretaceous. The age difference of about 25-30 million years highlights the differences in tectono-metamorphic evolution of various parts of the Jurassic subduction-accetion complex in SW Japan.
