Digital Engagement: An Alternative Perspective

Budgets are being cut, Big Society is bringing sweeping changes and the rise of the digital generation all means that things are rapidly changing for local government. Digital technology is changing the way we communicate and local government needs to encompass this or get left behind. In this article Matt Worsfold argues why digital engagement is the future and looks towards to use of social media as a tool of engagement. However, he argues that social media has one fatal flaw and that instead local government should look to methods previously unthought-of to engage with their citizens.
