Ict Scenario in India

ICT in India is seen as an enabler and solution provider. However, mere computerisation and procurement are not enough to take full advantage of ICT in India. In the absence of suitable policies and strategies at the National level, a political will, public involvement, etc the same will remain just as effective and real as are dreams. This paper is highlighting the drawbacks and weaknesses of Indian ICT policies and strategies that are also responsible for a very negligible success of the Indian National e-governance plan (NEGP).
