Purpose of activity: To learn about the anatomy of the clam.  NOTE:  If you have ever tried to dissect a clam, you will know how difficult it can be to identify the parts.  Doing this paper activity as a "pre-lab" activity before the actual dissection will greatly enhance the dissection experience.  The dissection won't end up being a waste of time where they just go "Ew!" and don't bother to really observe. Description of activity:  Students cut and assemble a paper clam.  It's sort of like backwards dissecting.  You assemble the clam instead of taking it apart!
