Sanjay Upadhya's recent book "The Raj Lives: India in Nepal" has asserted that whoever rules Nepal has to secure India’s nod and keep its legitimate security concerns in mind. Every Prime Minister except Mr Pushpa Kamal Dahal has made India his first port of call. The Maoists have sought to ‘look beyond India’ and regain their sovereign space even if that means giving some of it to China.
