Odonata community inhabited upland rice field in manik rambung, Siantar as soon aswater was available in the rice plots. Out of two hundred fifty individuals seperatedinto 2 sub-orders, 3 families, and 16 species of odonata were recorded. Sub order Zygoptera was represented by family Coenagrionidae (6), such as Pseudagrionmicrocephalum, P. pruinosum, Argiocnemis rubescens, Ischnura senegalensis, Agriocnemis femina, A. pygmaea, then family Gomphidae (1), consist of Ictinogomphus spp; while sub order Anisoptera consist of family Libellulidae (9) suchas Potamarcha congener, Orthetrum sabina, O. testaceum, Diplacodes trivialis,Crocothemis servilia, N. terminata, N. ramburii, Tholymis tillarga, and Pantala flavescens. Zygoptera were more higher collected than Anisoptera, while three of dominance pests in rice field were determined as food source of Agriocnemis femina. However, odonata was the most common insect with species that are predaceous inthe rice ecosystem and Water Productivity Fertilizers from Soya glicine max waste can make growth of paddy plantation with related as source of paddy pests. Bothlarvae and adults are the voracious predators on other insects.
