Deskripsi

In late 2001, the Dalai Lama having a realization of the quintessential buddhist teachings that came from these seventeen masters all from the ancient Indian monastery of Nalanda, composed this original poem/prayer paying homage to them and commissioned a thangka depicting this vision. This document reproduces the thangka and has the original poem line-for-line in the Tibetan along with its pronunciation and English translation. This is a landmark document brings together the realization of the existence of the Nalanda lineage as the culmination of Indian Buddhist thought. It forms as well as the basis of the unique buddhism that remains today mainly (if not only) in Tibet. It is a crystalline form of buddhism elucidating the most ancient teachings of the Buddha down through the millennia that was preserved and extended by these masters. Now, in tune with the most cutting edge science and philosophy in our contemporary world, it is being shared and presented, by him and others, to the world.
