The Roaming Jacaranda Tree by Daniel Finneran

Louis and Ginger live North of Boston, and Louis works in Boston. As Lous looks, possibly with some apathetic futility, for a new job, and while observing those around him -- the guy on the train, constantly doing, with some flamboyance, crossowords; another, going in on the train for possibly a very odd reason -- things seem to be going in a certain direction with Ginger, and it is possible Louis must come to a place of some profound understanding relative to his own life. This is from a short-story collection entitled SAWING BOMBS IN HALF & OTHER STORIES, which is not yet completed. The stories begin with adolescence, and continue on through old age.
