USJR-NRA Draft Safety Standard-Design Basis

Japan established the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) in 2012 and is now developing new nuclear safety regulations in response to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi two years ago. The Japanese government has drawn on experts and public opinion in drafting the new set regulations. While the draft nuclear regulations are publicly available in Japanese, there are no official English translations available. Forum on Energy has posted the following unofficial translations to promote a cooperative exchange of information and an open dialogue between both countries.
