Zimbabwe Diamond Mining 2013

Zimbabwe produces typical African kimberlitic diamonds and alluvial diamonds. Diamonds in Zimbabwe are currently being extensively mined in three different regions of the country. Towards the end of 2011 Zimbabwe was finally given the green light to freely resume export of diamonds from Marange, within the Kimberley Process framework. If Zimbabwe completes its electoral reforms successfully, a surge in diamond production from the country is likely. In 2012, was the fourth largest producer of diamonds by volume.
